Brick works
Long-lasting, durable and strong. Bricks are available in all types of patterns and colors. Bricks are laid in mortar which is used to hold the bricks together, however over time problems such as bulging, erosion, breaks in joints, and cracks among other such problems will occur. Left unattended for too long it can be very costly to repair properly. Proper care and maintenance are required for the long life of any masonry structure.
Repairs and Restoration
Erosion from the elements damages brick and brick joints. Left unattended this can lead to leaks, drafts and even structural failure. Replacement, restoration and renovation can revive poor and deteriorating masonry work.
Tuck Pointing
Joints over a period of time erode. Usually affected by the change of the weather; freezing thawing, rain and summer heat can cause expansion in the joints leading to cracks. The process of repairing damaged joints is called repointing, when this process is properly done it will significantly improve the condition and appearance of a masonry structure.
Chimney Repair
A chimney is the vertical structure we see on a building that act as the exhaust to allow the gases and smoke from a fire or Appliance to be vented to the outdoors. Prone to have spalling bricks which allows moisture to seep into the brick which freeze and create cracks and flaking bricks over a period of time loosening mortar joints. If deterioration is found at an early stage, chimneys can be repaired by replacing bricks, caps or mortar joints and caulking around flashing. Left unattended for too long it is recommended to rebuild the chimney tearing down the structure entirely and rebuilding it from the roof base up.
