Flexstone #1
This step and landing had been parged several times, but the repairs failed because differences in height caused water to sit too long in certain areas. This also caused parts of the concrete to lift. We used a heavy-duty dust-extractor concrete grinder to remove all of the layers down to the base concrete. We then installed a Flexstone coating and sealer to create a water barrier. Because Flexstone is self-leveling, it corrected the uneven areas, and the water now drains properly.
Flexstone #2
This landing had stamped concrete on top. As you may notice, once stamped concrete starts to crack, water can get underneath it, which leads to further cracking and spalling. We ground off the damaged material to expose the base, then installed Flexstone. The surface is now sealed and protected from water penetration.
Flexstone #3
This concrete step had some parging and had also been painted. We ground off and removed all of the parging and paint, prepared the surface until it was smooth, installed Flexstone, sealed it, and reinstalled the railing. The steps are now structurally sound, visually improved, and waterproofed.
