Parging #1
This wall had tiles covering the brick surface. The base was heavily weathered, and the bricks had deteriorated. We removed the tiles, replaced the damaged bricks, applied a bonding agent, and then installed new parging. This repair should now prevent water from penetrating behind the bricks and causing the same problem again.
Parging #2
The top of this wall had metal edging that was damaged. It also appeared to have several layers of parging that had been reinforced with metal, which rusted over time due to water penetration. The back blocks were in very poor condition, so some had to be replaced, and the sunken areas had to be rebuilt. We then finished the surface with a smooth, flush sponge finish. Once it had dried, we installed a bead of caulking at the top where the bricks meet the new parging material. This should prevent water from getting in between the surfaces and causing the same problem in the future.
